IMPORTANT PTO Information!

Hello WDES Families! The 2022/2023 WDES PTO would like to welcome you all back to school! We all hope you had a relaxing summer!

Here are some special dates and announcements to get everyone back on the school schedule! In the future our PTO news will be located in the weekly principal prowl, Facebook and our PTO website!

Have you become a PTO member yet? No worries, you have plenty of time! Becoming a PTO member DOES NOT MAKE YOU A VOLUNTEER! Actually, if you do not have time to volunteer this is a great and easy way to help out your child’s school!

By becoming a member and paying your annual WDES PTO $20 membership fee, you help fund the PTO! What does the PTO buy with membership fees?
-Agendas
-Art notebooks
-Canvas bags
-Class t-shirts
-A $200 classroom voucher for every teacher
-A $100 voucher for every courtyard to enhance outdoor learning
-A $100 voucher for support staff
-Fun events throughout the year such as Grandparent Days, Movie Night, BINGO, Winterfest, Field Day and more!

Also, becoming a PTO member allows you to come to our Open PTO Meetings!

Open PTO Positions for
​2022-2023

We have an open position for the 
2022/2023 School Year.
Please consider taking a  board position.
It is important to have dedicated volunteers on our PTO board for the success of supporting our students and WDES families!  
Every position comes with a binder that is full of detailed notes.  You are NEVER alone.  You will have the support of the entire board, and the current board members are already planning ways to support the volunteers who take over!   
Every parent has a handful of things to balance throughout the day, and it may seem that taking on a  board position is too hard.  With some organization and support though,  it is do-able and rewarding!  Currently all 6 members of the board have either a full time or part time job.  Two of the board members still have younger children at home.  And... 4 out of the 6 members returned from previous years, while other board members became important committee chair holders... so obviously it's  a rewarding job!

​ON HOW TO JOIN THE PTO!
Instead of clipping from packages and checking expiration dates, all Box Tops will be
earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education team has worked hard to build a NEW-and-improved, user-friendly Box Tops mobile app, available now.

The new app features state-of-the-art technology that allows you to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to our school's earnings online.

If you still have traditional Box Tops clips at home, make sure to send them to school. We will still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire. Better yet, you can “double dip” during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing participating products.

OUR BOX TOP EARNING GOAL for the 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR IS $1,000! A SCHOOL WIDE PAJAMA DAY WILL BE REWARDED WHEN WE REACH OUR GOAL!

What should we spend that money on? Come to the PTO Open Meeting and give us some ideas!
